The threat of Redoran
it twas but a normal day in balmora. The mindless walking, the warning of pickpockets. The damn rats, and the long hours. Graker could not wait to go to bed, but that was still five long hours away. He did his fiftieth pass past the eight plates, and recognised its usual smell, of skooma, of candles, and of the theivs who resided inside. he stopped at it though, he had a bad feeling. He looked towards it, nad then heard what had made him stop. there was a slight scream from the inside, a constant, intense scream. He took a step towards the building, and looked over is shoulder. Another guard had stopped, and looked at him. He had heard too. Graker drew his sword, and ran towards the door. his bonemade armor clanked on the ground, and his sword gleamed in the light. he reached the door, and kicked it in. Flames shot out of the entrance, and melted his sheild. He threw the molten hunk aside, and looked in the door. A hooded man had his hand outstreached, and was shooting the fire at him. he took a step back, and gazed in amazment as the broken door fitted back into the doorway. The other gaurd reached him, and rammed the door. A fire burt through the door, and the gaurd was vaporized. Graker looked for the hooded man, but did not see him. He ducked his head, and ran through the flames. he emerged on the other side, and coughed. There was alot of smoke in the room, and it was very dark. He stumbled around a corner, and up some stairs. He looked up, and saw the man black. he was standing over a charred body, clutching a green glowing dagger in his hands. He turned toward the battered gaurd, and held out the blade. It glowed even brighter, and then a bright flash. Graker turned away, and then back. The man was now glowing green, and laughing loudly. He walked toward Graker, and reared back to strike him. Graker parleyed the strike, and was alarmed at the heat that was radiating from the blade. he swung back at the man, and hit his throught. The blade snapped at the point that it hit him. The man laughed louder. he swung again, and hit grakers arm. The blade burned through it, castrating it. He screamed in pain, and turned. He ran down the stairs, and grabbed an axe off the wall. he turned, and found the mans face a few inches from his. He felt the man's breath on his face, and its heat. It felt like fire, and smelled like soot. the man laughed, and GRaker felt the blade stab into his abdomane. It seered, and he grimaced, but hit the man with the axe. It was an ebony axe, and it hit him with a thud. it melted in grakers hads. he dropped it, and pushed the man away from him. It burned his hands, and bits of his hand stuck to the man. He ran down the hall, and out the door. The flames burned him, but he did not notice. He stumbled out the door, and felt a sharp pain in his back. the dagger burnt though him, and stuck into the gorund. The onlookers saw his last momnet, and though of him as a hero. He emerged, armless, and burnt. he was stabbed by the dagger, and then he turned. He held up his hands, and he cast his last spell. The place where the man was standign exploded, and then Graker died. the man stepped out, flaming. He laughed again, and swung his hand to face grakers body, and Ice shot out. Grakers smoldering body froze, and the hooded man laughed harder. He looked up, held both his hands to the skies, and vanished.

the next day, a note was found on the doorway of the south wall club. It told them to bring the eye of sarumantes revenge to the cave flarrumant near red mountain. "There will be more attacks until you bring it here" the note says, No one knows what the eye of sarumantes revenge is, and no one knows where flarrumant is.

Malinus showed the note to his boss, Bacola Closcius. ''So what do you think, sire?'' he asked. ''I don't know,'' Bacola said wonderingly. ''Why the attacker chose to put the note on our door is beyond me.'' ''Umm...could it be because this is close to where the attack took place?'' Malinus pointed out sarcastically. ''AHA!'' Bacola exclaimed. ''I think I have it. They must have put it on the door because the attack took place near here.'' ''Sire, that's what I just said.'' Malinus told him. ''No it wasn't now shut up while I go tell Sugar-Lips that Ifigured out why the attacker put the note there.'' Malinus watched in hopelessness while Bacola strutted over to the bar. He saw him explaining the theory that he, Malinus, had thought of. He grinned as Bacola received a clawed paw hitting him on the side of the face. ''Sugar-Lips already knows thisss and yet you come here thinking you have intelligencccce. You are nought but a fool Bacola Closciussss.'' Sugar-Lips hissed. Malinus faked a look of concern as his boss walked up to him. ''What happened?'' ''Well I told her what I had thought of and she was going to give me a pat on the back but she missed,'' Bacola lied. ''by a lot,'' he added after he saw the look on Malinus' face. After Bacola had walked over to Chirranir to get his face healed Malinus approached Sugar-Lips. ''What does the prey wish of Habasi?'' ''I need a favor.'' Malinus told her. ''I need for you to steal the Eye of Sarumantes Revenge for me.'' ''And how do I steal something that is non-existent?'' Sugar-Lips asked him. ''That's exactly what I wanted to hear.'' Malinus smiled. He ran up the stairs into the storage room. Sugar-Lips was still looking where he had been and commented to herself, ''Too many people on skooma these days.''
