Covenant Story (Halo) Part Five Finally here is the last of my stupid story. You can copy all sections to Word if you want and print it so it'll be easier to read. Just make sure that if you do that that it is in the right order.

‘Putumee went up to the raised platform and he saw that the Brutes were on the lower part of the command deck with blood showing the path that they were dragged. He watched the Elite teams through the cameras. They did well, one group that headed for a brig, killed four Brutes and released another pair of Hunters and several Grunts.
“What do you want to do with the Hunters?” ‘Putumee asked ‘Seretulee.
“We have classified this ship as an Elite-held ship,” he responded. “Elite’s will come off the surface of Halo and try to board here, so will some Brutes, they will try to take this ship back over. We will have the Hunters defend the docking bay and have them kill any Brutes before they can ever think about leaving the docking bay and infesting the ship. That’s where we sent the other Hunters that came here.”
‘Putumee saw a group of three Brutes head toward the brig where the Elites just took over. “Team three,” ‘Putumee said over the intercom, “you have three Brutes headed toward your position and tell the Hunters that they are ordered to go to the docking bay to defend it.”
“Understood,” the team leader replied.
The Brutes counter-attack was ineffective and the Hunters headed toward the docking bay. The rest of the Brutes were easy to deal with and there was not much to report over the intercoms.
“We’re going out into the orbit,” ‘Seretulee said, “we also sent a message for all Elites that are coming off Halo to come to this ship, we need a crew.”
Only three Brute-held dropship tried to come into the ships docking bay but their efforts were in vein as the Hunters, that were ordered to protect it, killed the Brutes with only two casualties.
Several Elite-held dropships made it back to the flagship loaded with more Elites, Hunters and Grunts. As more troops arrived, more ‘hunt and kill’ teams were sent through out the ship. After the thirteenth ship arrived all the Brutes and Jackals that were onboard are now dead. The flagship had a new crew including over seven-hundred Grunts, one-hundred Hunters and three-hundred Elites. Out of the three-hundred Elites, around twenty councilors members made it back, they also had around one thousand Engineers onboard. While they were in orbit, six other Elite-held warships joined the flagship. The Elite ships reported that they had a crew of a thousand plus Grunts, several hundred Elites, couple hundred Engineers and a few dozen Hunters each.
The Elites regrouped at the destruction of the old Halo and sent a message out to all surviving Elites, that are spread out across the galaxy, to regroup near the destruction of Halo, somewhere, where the Brutes wouldn’t be interested in. Over the next few weeks dozens of Elite-held ships showed up at the location, each ship holding thousands of Elites, Grunts, Engineers and Hunters with them. They could not stay there for long, they would run out of food and water soon. The Elites were able to get nearly twelve-thousand Engineers on their side.
When the last Elite-held ship arrived, they have all went looking at charted planets to see if they are hospitable, they searched dozen that weren’t and a few that they searched were already glassed. As soon as they found a planet that could still hold life, they would start a military base and continue to be prepared for war.
After searching over thirty planets, they finally found one that is inhabited by the humans and untouched by the Covenant. The planet obviously had animals and other life forms on it but from the orbital pictures there’s no dominate species so there would be no fighting to gain control of the planet.
When they reached the planet the Elites ordered the Engineers to begin building a shipyard, buildings and homes. This would have difficult if the Engineers weren’t there, many would have died trying to start a civilization on this planet.
The planet had plenty natural resources to feed the Elites, it was rich in iron like most other planets, for the buildings, and thirty percent of the planet was covered in water, five percent of that was drinkable, the other twenty-five was ocean water.
The Grunts were harder to care for, they had to make building filled with methane for the Grunt to breath off of, and they had to keep the Grunts near the poles. However, the Grunts still needed their environmental suits to stay cool enough.
A small shipyard and a small city has been built within the first two weeks. The Engineers were split into two different groups, half of them would build ships and the other half would farm the land for food. The food was well taken care of and no one starved, but the ships came out slow. It takes nearly a year to make a good ship and they could only work on six at a time. Since it took so long to build ships, most of the Engineers were reassigned to the shipyard. Now a ship would come out every couple months, that is if they spend all those months on that one ship.
It was four months since the Covenant Civil War has begun and the Elite councilors, Zealot units, highest-ranking Grunts and Hunters were all called to a meeting in a recently built headquarters. ‘Seretulee was in the center of the council room and the Spec Ops Commander was standing next to him. The room had raised bleachers on both sides which is where all the councilors and Zealot units are sitting. ‘Putumee and ‘Kinuramee sat together near where the Commander and ‘Seretulee stood.
“Do you know what we’re doing here?” ‘Putumee asked.
“No, not at all,” ‘Kinuramee said.
Another Elite joined in the conversation, “I heard that Jackals have also been betrayed and now they are looking for us, so they can join us,” he said.
“Lies,” ‘Kinuramee said, “the Jackals have never liked us in command over them and they certainly don’t like the Grunts, they were probably happy fighting against us and the Grunts.”
“Yeah, maybe so,” the Elite responded. “But I also heard that the Prophets don’t want the ‘old’ Covenant members anymore.”
“Also lies,” ‘Kinuramee replied, “the Prophets didn’t want this civil war to begin in the first place, the only reason why it started is because of a group of Elites had enough and attacked a pack of Brutes and the war worked its way up on that.”
“Some Elite councilors met up with the Elites, who killed the Brutes, and told them that they were to go to the trials,” ‘Kinuramee continued, “but then some more Brutes came in and attacked the councilors, that battle started the civil war when our councilors were trying to prevent it. The Brutes started this war and the Prophets weren’t too happy about it but they still supported the Brutes. They still want every member they can to join them.”
“Well, then why did the Grunts and Hunters join us, over the Prophets?” the Elite asked.
“The Grunts didn’t like the Jackals, as the Jackals didn’t like them,” ‘Kinuramee said, “so they naturally joined whatever side that was fighting against the Jackals. The Hunters always favored us over the Brutes. And they were, basically, part of the ‘old’ Covenant so they prefer to stay with us.”
“This is quite a crowd here, all these high-ranking soldiers,” ‘Putumee said. “Whatever we are here for must be really important.”
“Yeah,” ‘Kinuramee said and nodded, agreeing.
They continued to talk to each other and all the other Elites, Hunters and Grunts spoke among themselves until the Commander said: “This is an very important meeting, but feel free to ask any questions that come to mind, at any time. Your questions can only improve our recent plan, so don’t be feel like you can’t speak at all.”
The Grunts and Hunters knew that the Commander wasn’t giving them permission to interrupt, only the Elites. So the Grunts and Hunters didn’t dare to interrupt the Commander or ‘Seretulee while their presentation. They all stopped talking and let ‘Seretulee begin.
“Fellow Elites, as most of you know, we have been betrayed by the Prophets, Brutes, Jackals and, the newest members of the Covenant, the Drones,” ‘Seretulee began. “Their numbers in ships is far greater than our own. Many of us have probably now thought that we may never need to worry about having to deal with the humans again. But the truth is that we cannot fight the Brutes with our own numbers, our scout ships have informed us that the Prophets are looking for our location. Soon they will find us and we cannot win if they send all ships to attack us, which is what they will probably most likely do.”
“We have to choose in this war, if we should stay solo and wait for the Prophets to find us,” ‘Seretulee continued, “then, if we do that, we can make our stand and retreat to another planet. Or we can join on the humans side and fight together against the Brutes. With them we can win the war, the humans won’t like it one bit but I think that they don’t have a choice, unless their pride will blind them.”
“We have killed billions of human civilians,” an Elite councilor said, “destroyed hundreds, maybe thousands, of their ships and glassed dozens of their colonized planets. What makes you think they will let us join them so easily?”
“Yes, I know what we have done to them,” ‘Seretulee replied. “Like I said, they may not like it, but they are losing the war. Both the Prophets and us, know where the human home planet is located and according to our scouts, the Prophets have stopped attacking the humans and started to send more search parties looking for us. The Prophets are far more interested in finding us before continuing to attack the humans, we are the bigger threat to them, they will find us sooner than what we would like. The humans must understand that they need us, in order to win the war, the humans cannot survive without us.”
A black-armored Grunt came in through the doors, walked up to ‘Seretulee and the Commander about five meters away and bowed very low.
“What is the meaning of this?” ‘Seretulee asked. The Elites in the bleachers started to talk to one another, wondering why a Grunt just came in. The angry voices grew louder, but the Grunt ignored the insults and answered:
“Excellency, we have received reports that the Prophets have continued to attack the humans home planet in separate engagements,” the Grunt replied, still bowed. “They haven’t launched an all-out attack yet, but mostly they have been attacking in smaller numbers, around once every other week.”
“Ah, I see,” ‘Seretulee said, to himself, thinking. He looked down and stared at the ground thinking for a few seconds and then he looked up at the Grunt again, “Leave!”
The Grunt turned and left the room. ‘Seretulee wondered how come the Grunt reported this since he was not present during this meeting and shouldn’t know about the alliance idea yet. The Elite’s talking died down and ‘Seretulee began to speak again:
“Now, the humans really need us if the Prophets have continued their attacks against them,” ‘Seretulee said. “We need to aid them, if they accept it, so that they won’t be wiped out before we can join forces and attack the Prophets together. Any other questions?”
“What if the humans go through our technology, learn from it and eventually turn on us,” the same Elite, that stated the previous statement, asked.
“I haven’t thought of that,” ‘Seretulee responded. “Well, we will put it in the treaty saying that the humans are not to build any ships stronger than our own. The humans will also think that we may turn on them so we will also put in the treaty that as soon as the war is over, we will leave or we are going to have to trust their word and they will have to trust ours. Good questions, ‘Heretumee. Any other questions?”
“If we go to the human home planet with our ships, they will shoot us out of the sky before we could get close enough to offer the treaty,” another Elite councilor said.
“Ah, do you want to take that one Commander?” ‘Seretulee asked turning to the Commander who is standing next to him.
“Yeah sure. We will send one ship to the humans home planet before we send our fleet,”the Commander answered, “we will send dozens of messages to the humans announcing the arrival of a ship. If they agree to allow us to send one ship to the planet then we will sent it. After the ship makes non-hostile contact with the humans, they will return to us and tell us that it’s safe. Then I will go to sign the treaty myself and tell the humans that our fleet will be coming so that way they won’t be scared and destroy our fleet. After I’ve signed the treaty and returned, that’s when we will get everybody to the human planet.”
“And what if something goes wrong, is there a back-up plan or do we just return back here,” a Zealot unit asked.
“If the humans do not sign the treaty, which I see no reason why they wouldn’t,” the Commander said, “then we will attack a different human-held planet and continue on our own. We know of two other human-held planets, one has a ship yard so we will attack the one that does not have a shipyard and we will make dozens of bases, and we’ll let the humans and Prophets continue to attack each other and whoever wins we will take them out.”
“We can easily persuade them with other reasons for why the humans should let us join them,” the Commander finished up. “We know where High Charity is, we can teach them the shield technology on their ships and we know all, that there is to know, about the Covenant. The percentage of the humans not taking us as an ally is probably lower than ten-percent, we have over a ninety-percent chance for the humans to join us.”
A murmur of approval went through the crowd.
“We shall take a vote, all those who disagree of siding with the humans?” ‘Seretulee asked. No one moved, not raising hands, nor any aye’s, no one voted for staying solo.
“Very well then,” ‘Seretulee said, “we will send a message to the humans offering a peace treaty.”

I speak on behalf of all the Elite, Hunters and Grunts that were once in the Covenant army. I have taken charge of all the Elites, Hunters and Grunts, including the Elite councilors, ships and the Engineers that are under my command.
All of our races have been at each others throats for some time, over twenty-five years. And by orders from the Prophets we (the Elites, Hunters and Grunts) have, regrettably killed many of your kind and destroyed many of your ships. We know that you are on the verge of defeat in the war and, honestly, we do not want your race to lose. This may sound like some kind of trap but I assure you, as leader of the Covenant Elites, Hunters and Grunts, it is not a trap.
We have been betrayed by our leaders, the Prophets, and have taken many losses in the first civil war battles. We are now at war with the Prophets and their allies. Our forces have reduced to a number of barely over one-hundred ships. We will not report our position to you just yet, but we are requesting to have one of our ships to go to your home planet and speak of a peace treaty between our two races. We, and the Prophets, know the location of your home planet so you don’t need to risk sending any information to us and you basically have nothing to lose by allowing us to come.
You may be wondering why the Prophets have not attacked your home planet as much, if they know the location. But for the pass few weeks, our scout ships have reported that the Prophets are far more interested in finding us before they attack. They believe that when they attack your planet, we will come and clean up all that is left. But if they do attack before the treaty is signed, we will come, target and destroy as many Prophet ships as we can but we will not go near your planet or ships for our own safety and we will continue to discuss the treaty.
If you accept to sign the treaty, we will do the following: share our technology with you, tell you the location of the Prophets base, tell you the amount of ships that are in their fleet and go to all front lines to attack the Prophets ships.
As we see it, is that you need us and we need you in order to win this war. If this treaty goes well, we will volunteer to go to the front lines to attack and we just request for the assistance of your ships to help attack the Prophet ships that will come. I assure you that we will not betray you if this treaty goes well. We ask for you to agree for no betrayal, also. None of us has anything to gain from any betrayals, at least, that’s how we see it.
As we said before, we will send one ship to your home planet, to speak to some one in authority to speak about the treaty. We hope for a response with no hostility and hope for a better relationship between our races. If more than one ship arrives at your location then open fire because chances are that the ships will not belong to us, the location where are ship will appear is 1.23262 AU’s from your sun. Feel free to send some escorts for your safekeeping. We will wait for a response before we send the ship.
We hope for better peace between our races and we hope for a positive response. We’d like for this treaty to go well so we can get fight the Prophets with high hopes. Our fate rest in your decisions.

We will allow one ship to arrive at 1.23262 AU’s from our sun. If more than one ship arrives we will open fire and destroy the ship(s). Your ship will meet up with four destroyers and be escorted to a planet that we have habituated, that is at 1.474 AU’s from our sun, Mars.
When your ship exits slipspace, we request for deactivation of all systems until we are sure that there is no hostility acts. The ship will be escorted to Mars and at Mars your spokesmen will get off the ship, go through security, will be disarmed and meet with one of our officers to speak of the treaty.
If you send bodyguards then you can have your spokesman have a maximum of two bodyguards, but they will not be armed. And we will not be armed either, trust us on our word and we shall trust you on your word. If the bodyguards are armed then we will take the weapons, if they refuse then we will open fire. We also hope that there will be no betrayals or traps, we’d like an alliance with our two races but if there are any actions of hostility, then the treaty will be discarded.
Failure to do this will end up in the result of the destruction of the ship. Meet us at the location four days from now.

wow whitefox. you really underestimate yourself. I thought the story got better and better as it went. I especially liked the grunt and the treatee offering at the end. they seemed very realistic.
