Covenant Story (Halo) Part 3 Here's the continued Halo story
_____________________________________
‘Putumee was woke up and opened his eyes, he was aware that he didn’t have his armor on. ‘Putumee found himself looking through a cylinder resurrection tube window and he had a respiratory mask on. He kicked the door of the resurrection tube and it went flying across the room and hit the wall and left a dent. All the blue, healing liquid drained out onto the floor and he collapsed onto the floor on his hands and knees. He ripped off his respiratory mask and he robed himself, exited the room and walked down the hall, which was deserted. He looked around, there were only windows on the left side and showed the horizon, but the horizon seemed close, closer than a horizon of a spherical planet.
I must still be on Halo and looking to the east, ‘Putumee thought. He entered a medical bay.
“So, you’ve awoken,” a voice behind ‘Putumee said. He turned around a saw an Elite councilor coming out of the shadows. “The medics said you would never recover.”
This councilor was in charge of all the Elite under the Covenants vow, he is on the same rank as the Spec Ops Commander who is also in charge of all the Elites. The Spec Ops commander and this councilor knew each other very well and co-commanding the Elites. Both the Commander and this councilor usually had two to four bodyguards. Although his bodyguards weren’t there at this time. The Spec Ops Commander and this councilor are the most respected Elites in the Covenant military.
He wore a grayish-white colored armor that the shields could take a lot of damage before collapsing and he wore a Elite councilors helmet. He was one of the council members or more like the leader of the other Elite councilors. He was one of the highest-ranking members in the Covenant military; he was a great leader because he would join his troops in battle giving a big morale boost. The councilor has won over 170 ground engagements and over 75 space battles, lost none. His name was Talo ‘Seretulee.
“Where am I?” ‘Putumee asked, finding it hard to speak.
“We’re on Halo,” ‘Seretulee answered.
“Halo?” ‘Putumee asked, this confirmed his theory of still being on Halo. “Are the humans still present here?”
‘Seretulee laughed in his throat. “Yes and no. The Halo that you would be remembering has been destroyed by a human SPARTAN, they call him Master Chief. Lucky for you that when you received your injury, a group of lighter-ranking Elites pulled you aboard a dropship and got you to the best medical bay available at the time. Your upper body actually ‘detached’ from your lower body but nothing vital was destroyed, mostly muscle tissues and blood veins.”
“So how does that mean ‘Yes and No’ that the humans are still on Halo?” ‘Putumee asked, sounding somewhat irritated.
“Well, when we came to this Halo,” ‘Seretulee continued, “the humans followed us here and have a warship floating above the ring. The human that destroyed the other Halo, Master Chief, has been spotted on this ring too. Anyways, after you were recovered from the battle ground we sent you in a resurrection cylinder and you bodies cellular level was able to heal you to whole again.”
“So, why was I brought here?”
“The medics said that you were starting to finish up healing, and the Prophets wanted you to go straight back into battle as soon as you finished healing, so you were brought here,” ‘Seretulee finished up. “You have some new armor and some new weapons in the locker room, go get in the armor and meet me back out here in a little bit.”
“How was Halo destroyed,” ‘Putumee asked still curious of what has been going on.
“I’ll explain more in detail later, go get changed,” the ‘Seretulee said, turning around and walking away from ‘Putumee.
‘Putumee went into the locker room and found a new golden armor set, he quickly put it on and he equipped a energy sword, plasma pistol and a plasma rifle. He went back to meet up with ‘Seretulee but instead he found a pack of Brutes there.
‘Putumee, or any of the Elites, didn’t like the Brutes; in fact they hate the Brutes. They always seem to think that they are naturally a higher rank than the Elites. And the Prophets did seem to favor the Brutes more. They only joined the Covenants military in the pass year, or at least that’s what ‘Putumee knew, he didn’t know how long he has been out cold.
“Come with us,” the leader of the pack grunted.
‘Putumee didn’t like the Brutes ordering him around, but he still went with them. Unfortunately, there were other minor Elites and Grunts that were being picked up as they went along. ‘Putumee didn’t understand what was going on, he did not like the Brutes ordering him around one bit but when you have been out cold for several weeks or months, things change. ‘Putumee started realize what was happening as he overheard the things that the Brutes were saying about the Elites, that angered him but what really angered ‘Putumee is what the next transmission said over the intercom of the Brutes:
“The Elite Halo Councilors are dead, as well as most Elites on High Charity, begin to kill the Elites, fellow Brutes, kill them!”
The Brutes backed away from ‘Putumee and opened fire, ‘Putumee’s shield dropped rapidly, the lighter ranked Elites and Grunts fell quickly. ‘Putumee was stunned that the Brutes thought that they could do this unpunished, all he could feel was a hundred grenades detonate upon him. ‘Putumee had a hundred thoughts go through his head in the few seconds and his shield was about to collapse when the Brutes stopped firing as the Bruteshots needed to reload and plasma rifles overheated. ‘Putumee pulled out his Energy Sword and killed the Brutes around him. ‘Putumee muscles cramped so he stretched his recently restored muscles for a minute.
‘Putumee checked the Elites that were just killed, he wondered how long this has been going, the Elites on High Charity and the Elite Halo Councilors are dead.
This is an outrage! ‘Putumee thought. The Elites that are around him, are dead. ‘Putumee realized that there were holding cells, holding several Elites and he was about to free them when a door opened behind him with Brutes in the doorway, armed with Bruteshots. ‘Putumee looked over his shoulder and a raging fire flared up inside him. The Brutes look around and saw the carnage on the floor, and they spotted ‘Putumee and opened fire. ‘Putumee was waiting a long time to fight the Brutes and now he has his chance.
‘Putumee screamed angrily, ducked behind a pillar before he was hit, he turned and threw a plasma grenade. It stuck to on of the Brutes, the Brute screamed, ‘Putumee crouched and covered his head when the grenade went off, killing all the Brutes and shook ‘Putumee’s bones as a chain reaction went off involving several grenades that were on the Brutes belts. ‘Putumee wanted the Brutes dead for what they have done, all dead and he would send them back to whatever hole they crawled out from.
‘Putumee finally was able to free the imprisoned Elites, and they would kill the Brutes in this area and take back a dropship and then they would go take over any warship that might be in orbit. ‘Putumee and his new team went through the first set of doors and they saw Brutes lying down all over, dead from deep energy sword cuts. ‘Putumee found out that there was a dropship docked further in as he searched the dead Brutes. He heard an explosion behind the next door, so he went to investigate.
The room has a glass roof with pillars equally spaced out, the room was just a straight hallway to another set of doors. Behind a pillar on the other side of the hall was a very high-ranking Elite in his grayish-white council uniform, ducking behind a pillar, while several Brutes shot at councilor. The pillar was being blown to bits. A plasma grenade stuck to ‘Kinuramee, the councilor, and ‘Kinuramee ripped off the grenade with out much difficult and threw it back at the Brutes.
However, the grenade missed and caused no harm and the Brutes continued to fire. Before ‘Putumee could assist ‘Kinuramee, ‘Kinuramee jumped out with his energy sword, stabbed the sword into the first Brute, swung the sword around toward the other Brutes, leaving a deep gash in all the Brutes. The Brutes dropped; hit the ground dead with thick black blood oozing out of the new wounds. ‘Putumee knows that this Elite is responsible for the dead Brutes in the room before.
“So, I see other Elites have survived, good. I could use the company,” ‘Kinuramee said noticing ‘Putumee and his team while still staring at the dead Brutes.
One of the Brutes struggled on the ground, ‘Kinuramee took out a captured human combat knife out of its holster that was around his ankle, kneeled next to the struggling Brute and ended the Brute’s pitiful life by slicing the knife across the Brutes throat.
“Yes, Excellency, we are indeed still alive,” ‘Putumee answered, “the rest of this team and I have been heading toward a dropship that’s docked further in.”
“Then what will you do, it’s heavily guarded and what good can dropship do?” ‘Kinuramee asked, looking at ‘Putumee and slowly walking toward him.
“We will kill the Brutes that are guarding it and take the dropship to the a warship that might be in orbit, and take that over too,” ‘Putumee answered.
“Alright, good we need to show these damned Brutes that the Elites will not take this unacceptable traitorous act,” ‘Kinuramee said, turning away from ‘Putumee.
“May I ask what happened to the rest of you team or your bodyguards?” ‘Putumee asked.
“You may. Well, when these Brutes received the transmission from their chieftain, they attacked us,” ‘Kinuramee started turning away and staring off into space in deep thought. “My bodyguards had no weapon at this time so they threw themselves at the two closest Brutes and began hand to hand combat. I ran to recover my energy sword that the Brutes took. When I returned, both of my bodyguards were dead, I quickly deposed of the Brutes, check my bodyguards and hid their bodies so the Brutes cant find them.”
“I did a short, thirty-second memorial for the,” ‘Kinuramee continued, “that’s when I heard on one of the dead Brutes radio ‘to hurry up and kill the Elite councilor or we’ll come and do it ourselves, and I heard the doors open in this room so I went to attack. Well, that didn’t turn out to good which forced me to hid behind the pillar and that’s when you—”
‘Kinuramee’s story was cut short when Brutes appeared in the doorway behind him and shot three grenades out of their Bruteshots at ‘Kinuramee. ‘Kinuramee flew across the room and came skidding across the floor and smashing into a pillar. ‘Putumee pulled out his energy sword and sliced a vicious blow across the Brute’s fat chests, the blow nearly cut them in half. ‘Putumee went to check on ‘Kinuramee, he slowly got up.
“Are you alright?”
‘Kinuramee coughed up some blood, went over to the Brutes who attacked him and he kicked the Brute repeatedly until the face was unrecognizable. “Yeah, I’m fine,” ‘Kinuramee finally answered and spat out more blood onto the floor.
‘Putumee, ‘Kinuramee and the rest of the team went into the room that just before where the dropship is docked. The room was separated by a wall parallel to the door ‘Putumee’s team came through. On both sides there was a catwalk raised, there are prison cells on both levels on the other side of the wall that was separating the room. In the middle on ‘Putumee’s side there was a ramp going up to the catwalks.
‘Putumee and his team went up the center ramp and went to the corner that connected both sides of the room. They saw a pair of Hunters trapped in a holding cell, Brutes were guarding the door that led to the dropship and there were bound to be more Brutes behind the door that was being guarded.
‘Kinuramee turned toward an Elite in crimson-red armor. “Use that beam rifle to release the Hunters.” ‘Kinuramee whispered.
The Elite fired at the device that made the prison shield and the shield collapsed, but neither the Hunter nor the Brutes realized that they were set free. ‘Kinuramee stood, raised his energy sword and yelled, “Hunters, attack these foul demons who lock you away, kill them. Kill them all!”
The Brutes turned to ‘Kinuramee then to the Hunters, the Hunters fired their fuel rod cannons. The Brutes vaporized and the door, that they were guarding, melted away from the blast. Brutes streamed out of the half-melted door, after hearing the explosion, the Hunters fired again and more and more Brutes kept coming. Finally the Brutes killed the Hunters and when that happened ‘Putumee’s team opened fire.
‘Putumee never seen Brutes act like Grunts, they don’t retreat and regroup, they just kept coming. Finally the last Brute fell and ‘Kinuramee hid next to the doorway where all the Brutes have been coming out of. ‘Kinuramee picked up one of the Brutes radios and said, “The traitors are dead, it’s safe. Come out, we need to check the room for more.” The trap has been set.
A captain-ranked Brute came through the door with five bodyguards, they passed ‘Kinuramee without noticing him. They looked around for surviving Brutes, when ‘Kinuramee jumped out and jabbed his sword into the captains back, ‘Putumee could see the other end of the sword come out of the captains chest. ‘Kinuramee brought his sword around and killed two bodyguards, ‘Kinuramee couldn’t kill the others fast enough so he hid behind a wall. Then the other Brutes were enveloped by bright green light and a shower of blood rained on the floor.
‘Kinuramee looked over to the dead Hunters and saw a group of ten Grunts standing over them, the leader and his assistant were holding up the fuel rod cannons that they took off the dead Hunters. The guns barrels were still smoking.
‘Kinuramee went over to the Grunt squad leader, “Thank you, Grunt,” ‘Kinuramee said, not sounding too happy, “but we had it covered. New orders: you and your squad will stay here and guard this door, set up any kind of defense you want, just guard this door.”
“As you command,” the Grunt replied.
“Well that should have been the hardest part of getting to the dropship,” ‘Kinuramee said to his team, turning his back to the Grunts.
The Elite battle group went into the next room and out to the dropship. None of the Brutes were turned toward them but a Jackal saw them and screeched. The Elite team activated their camouflage before the Brutes could see them. The Jackals have also betrayed us? ‘Putumee thought, the Jackals are weak and they dare fight us, they will receive no mercy for joining the Brutes. The Elite team assassinated most of the Brutes before they were revealed and then the difficult fight, for the dropship, broke out.
The Brutes hid behind some cargo and had the Jackals use their shields to cover any exposed Brutes. ‘Putumee and his team also hid behind some cargo, the fire fight lasted about five minutes, the Elites only won because the Grunts who were guarding the door in the other room must have heard the noise and came out, blew away cargo and killed the Jackals with the fuel rod cannons. ‘Kinuramee was again annoyed that Grunts saved him again. He thanked them and all of them, including the Grunts, boarded the dropship. They headed toward the flagship.
When they entered the docking bay, there were no Brutes. Instead of going through the hallways where the Brutes would be, they went through the vents.
“Grunts,” ‘Kinuramee said, “stay here and protect the dropship.
They nodded, turned around and headed back to the dropship. ‘Putumee knew that ‘Kinuramee didn’t want the Grunts to tag along, they would make noise and possibly blow the whole operation.
They continued on for several minutes, until ‘Kinuramee ordered them to stop, he carefully went to a vent that was pointed down. He looked through it. The room, that the Elites are above, is rectangular with the violet walls and a large table in the center with a holographic projection in the middle of the table. And sitting around the table were a dozen high-ranking Brutes sitting in a meeting. ‘Kinuramee motioned for six Elites to come up, ‘Putumee also came up to see what was going on.
“Drop some grenades right on top of the Brutes,” ‘Kinuramee whispered. To let the Brutes know that the Elites were on the ship was not a good idea, but killing these dozen high-ranking Brutes would be well-worth it.
A blue Elite lifted the vent, that was for the room, carefully and set it aside, making no noise. Five Elites got into position to around the vents to drop some grenades right on top of the Brutes. The grenades were activated and dropped, each grenade stuck to a Brute. Before the grenades went off, ‘Kinuramee also threw in a bomb that is usually for taking out tanks. An explosion filled the room below with a loud roar, the room shook violently and shook the vents as well. A blue light cashed harsh shadows on the roof of the vent and the room started to shake. It got hotter and the vents started to melt. The rumbling and vibrating seemed to go on forever. ‘Putumee was shaken to the bones in his armor, finally the shaking slowed and came to a stopped.
The Elites dropped down into what was left of the room, they all were on the edge near the walls because the explosion ripped through two levels down. The bomb that ‘Kinuramee through in was made to blow up in one direction, usually up, but the bomb must have landed upside down so that’s why the explosion didn’t tear upwards. They started toward the bottom deck where the blast has reached. They carefully climbed down, it took about three minutes for all the Elites to get down.
“Stealth is now gone, we’ll have to continue the hard way toward the control room,” ‘Kinuramee announced, when they reached the bottom.
“You two,” ‘Putumee said, pointing at two blue Elites, “protect ‘Kinuramee.”
They nodded. ‘Putumee and his team were trying to get to the control room so they can go off into space and vent all the air out to kill the remain Brutes. Then they would pick up other Elites that survived on the surface.
‘Putumee and his team passed into a docking room, with a couple of Phantoms docked and guns activated. The Brutes were waiting for them, there were also several Brutes on the central stretch with Bruteshots. They all opened fire.
‘Putumee hesitated, thinking, while the rest of the Elites turned and hid behind the wall for cover. He ran forward, that got their attention and they fired at him. ‘Putumee dodged to the left, ducked rolled and when he was close enough he pounced and threw himself at the closest Brute, going up three meters. ‘Putumee tackled the Brute to the ground and they both went down, the rest of the Brutes stopped firing, or else they would have killed themselves.
When the Brute, ‘Putumee tackled, hit the ground, ‘Putumee grabbed the Brutes grenade belt that was around its chest and he rolled over the Brute, while still holding onto the grenade belt, forcing the Brute to go with him and he threw the Brute over him and into the other side of the bay back down three meters. ‘Putumee got back up and dived at the Brute, who was just thrown into the other side of the bay. And he tackled the Brute and forced it into a corner, where the other Brutes could not shoot at ‘Putumee anymore.
‘Putumee’s plan worked, the rest of the Elites opened fire at the Brutes back while the Brutes are still concentrated on ‘Putumee. And at some time when ‘Putumee was charging the Brutes, ‘Kinuramee must have boarded the Phantom, killed the pilot and when the other Elites fired, he also opened fire on the Brutes with the Phantoms powerful weapons.
Meanwhile, ‘Putumee was going hand-to-hand combat with the Brute who he had tackled into the other side fo the bay. The Brute grabbed ‘Putumee’s throat and ‘Putumee was trying to get his neck free so he grabbed the Brutes wrist and twisted them hard and suddenly, breaking the bones. The Brute didn’t hesitate and threw its shoulder into ‘Putumee’s chest which sent him flying and crashing into a pillar. The Brute pinned ‘Putumee to the ground and was trying to use his hands again to strangle him, it must of hurt trying to strangle him with broken wrist. ‘Putumee brought his hands up and struck the Brutes chest, a couple ribs broke. The Brute flew back a few feet and ‘Putumee dived at it, he was able to pin it down. The Brute struggled and ‘Putumee couldn’t hold it.
The Brute broke free from ‘Putumee and swung its hands around, smacking ‘Putumee and the force threw him into the bottom of the center stretch. ‘Putumee got up and the Brute pinned him against the wall and tried to strangle ‘Putumee again. ‘Putumee couldn’t breath and he tried to get a hold of his deactivated energy sword that was at ‘Putumee’s belt but he couldn’t reach it. Then about two Beam Rifle rounds went through the side of the Brutes head. The corpse fell onto ‘Putumee.
‘Putumee pushed the dead Brute off of him, turned and saw the other Elite’s standing around the corner of the center stretch. ‘Putumee backed away and glanced up where the other Brutes were, he saw some smoldering Brutes and that the metal was blackened, some Brutes must have been completely vaporized because not all of them were accounted for, that must have been the work of the Phantom weapons.
They all went through the next door that was on the other side of the docking bay and went into the next room where they saw three dead Brutes, all beaten to death. No plasma burns or cuts, just bruises and the Brutes still had their plasma rifles in their hands.
As soon as ‘Putumee and his team gone through the next door, they became under fire. They all went back and around the wall, some Elites fired blindly down the hallway. ‘Putumee looked around the corner and saw ten Jackals firing at them, on bolt of plasma came near ‘Putumee’s head and he withdrew behind the wall again.
“Take them out!” ‘Kinuramee said. The Elites returned fire but the Jackal’s shields would not go down. Every time a shield started to turn red and overheat, a different Jackal would step in front giving the red shield time to cool back down.
They needed to get pass these Jackals and they needed to get pass fast before any Brutes come. So ‘Putumee jumped out, ran toward the Jackals while taking out his energy sword and activating it. When he was only a few feet away, he brought up the sword and was about to bring it down when a few Jackals screamed and tried to bring their shields up. One shield made it up but ‘Putumee still brought his energy sword down. It hit the shield and the shield was cut in half and collapsed as soon as the sword hit the device on the Jackals arm. The blow cut a Jackal in half, took ones arm off, hit across one of their throats and went across two of their chest. ‘Putumee swung his sword around killing another, while the other four remaining Jackals were not out of reach.
‘Putumee crouched and threw himself against the wall giving the Elites a clear shot at the Jackals, he only took a few hits that his shield blocked. Now with a clear shot, the other Elites opened fire again, this time three Jackals went down. There was one left and it attempted to run. An Elite with a needer opened fire, five rounds stuck into the Jackals back and they exploded, sending the Jackal another four feet away with a huge hole in its back.
The Jackals that lost its arm, is lying next to ‘Putumee and it struggled on the ground. ‘Putumee brought his foot down on the Jackals back, pinning it down. He put away his energy sword and pulled out his plasma rifle, aimed at the Jackals head and fired three times. He took his foot off the, now headless, Jackal and gave it a good kick in the chest. The other Elites caught up with him now. They went down the hall and could not go the quick way because the door was locked.
“Okay, we’re going the long way around,” ‘Kinuramee said.
They went back to where they saw the Brutes that were beaten to death, and went through a different door.
